Along with the excitement of planning summer garden parties, trips to the races, galas, cocktail parties and weddings comes a certain amount of trepidation. Not just about whether the weather will hold, but also about getting the outfit right, whether you need to buy something new, or whether you can rejuvenate one of your favorite combinations!

At Laundry Durango, CO know that the most beautiful clothes are not always the most practical... yet we believe that even if the sun does not shine, you should always be able to. So we take great pleasure in making your special events that little bit more special by caring for and maintaining your most delicate and decorated attire.

We employ experts in designer and luxury fabrics

For all designer or luxury labels, not only can the fabric and features be even more complex to treat, but they also represent a significant investment you have made in the item. It’s therefore understandable that however difficult to clean, you would like to keep wearing it time and time again! 

We have specialist detailers, cleaners and pressers trained specifically in how different fashion labels use fabrics - they know what’s on the outside, but also what goes on inside each garment. We even have a separate ‘lane’ in our Atelier, to make sure that high-value items are separated from more standard ones, and followed every step of the way by a designer or luxury fabric specialist, giving them the bespoke clean they deserve.

We take our time - and lots of it

Special garments often have special elements, such as delicate fabrics, embellishments or complex details and cuts built in. In these circumstances, cleaning a dress or dress shirt with the same process as more simple garments will not protect these features, or restore them to the full impact they should have. 

Our standard process involves more hand treatment and specialist technology than conventional dry cleaners, and so it’s natural that with special items we take even longer to care for each item. This does not necessarily mean returning it to you later - it just means that our artisans in our atelier will spend whatever time is needed while it is with us. We think good results take time and craft shouldn't be rushed. For example, de-staining a specific area only when the whole garment is too delicate to clean, ironing in folds and ruffles, removing and reattaching sewed-on embellishments, or precisely and gently reshaping clothes... All so you can have special times, time and time again!

The term ‘dry cleaning’ does not conventionally mean that your garment will not get wet. Far from it, it means that your clothes are coated in liquid toxic chemicals, usually PERC, which is known to be carcinogenic and can aggravate allergies. The chemicals are then evaporated or ‘dried’ out at very high temperatures. 

This not only leaves (toxic) residue; the fabric is actually not fully penetrated to remove odours such as sweat. Embellishments such as beads, special fastenings or decorations will often be melted or misshapen. 

Your special moment may be over more quickly than you would like, but we want to help make it perfect for you, and that means getting a perfect fit, even if the outfit you have just fallen in love with seems to not fit as well the minute you've stepped out of that store... 

Whether it involves letting seams out, taking them in, lengthening or shortening cuffs, or reworking the neckline, our tailor can perform some small miracles and make your outfit feel like haute couture
